Prepper Thoughts after the #TropicalStorm Barry Mobilization.

Image
( From Cap Black Social Media ): Thoughts after the #TropicalStorm Barry Mobilization. #Collectiveconsciousness radiated terse expectations regarding what this former Category One hurricane and tropical storm would do when it arrived in New Orleans. Of all words spoken and typed about this event, one I didn't see or hear was, #prepper. It often conjures connotations of militarists, cultists and survivalists, among other ominous " ists " in skeptical minds. Sweeping store closures and mass buying underscored the very real need of folks to have  food, water and other supplies independent of what government and big nonprofits offer in time consuming times of need. The word prepper may make folks uneasy. What makes me even more uneasy is the thought of people hungry, thirsty and frantic during real or imagined crisis because they didn't or couldn't stock supplies to sustain themselves until conditions return to normal. We who care must also prepare. ...

If Only Evil were Easy to See

Image
( From My Social Media ): If Only Evil were Easy to See The image of Mr. Barlow, my favorite vampire, popped in my head earlier today while making rounds. I was reflecting on how easy #crimeprevention and unmasking false friends would be if subjects looked like this character. Alas fellow #safetysapiens, that's far from the case. While cues and pre incident indicators offer aware observers invaluable heads up, deception can make a vampire intent upon feasting on our energy and resources appear to be anything but what he or she really is- an opponent operating right under our noses. If only Evil were easy to see... it can be easy to see if we pay close attention. Just like you'd run away at warp speed if Mr. Barlow materialized before you, figuratively run away from negative people after their friendly mask slips off. You don't have to wait for their fangs to sink in to see them for who they really are #CapBlackSELFDeveloper #selfdevelopment #selflove  #dis...

Looking. Assessing. Creating.

Image
We choose the conditions we accept,  knowingly, unwittingly and in ways great and small. Let's accept good ones by consciously, collectively creating them. Tragic Example: When the collective consciousness of my old neighborhood shifted from the quiet, dignified productivity of my grandparents, parents and even my generation to insurgent loud, larcenous, lethal counterproductivity, I saw firsthand what happens when negative conditions become the norm. The Solution?: Keep looking. Keep assessing. Keep creating safety and civility and opportunity daily and unapologetically displace negativity. #capblacksafetycreator #securityphilosopher #safetyandsupportmanager #selfdevelopment #selfrealization #selfactualization #orator #writer
