Lack Consciousness Makes Some Choose Crime!

My safety creation theory involves looking at motivational and even metaphysical ( or energy related ) causes for people to create safety and conversely, produce insecurity.

Progressive friends will point to poverty and racial discrimination as reasons why criminals, especially urban ones, citing these issues as reasons for offending shouldn't be punished. They go a step further and state said issues demand wholesale reenvisioning of the criminal justice system, with decriminalization and cash bail abolition as major objectives, regardless of dire consequences.

Old School brother that I am, I usually politely differ.  In this instance, I'll politely differ with a caveat.

The caveat is criminals using poverty and pigmentation as excuses to commit crime are burdened with a consciousness of lack; a concept familiar to my metaphysical and energy work minded friends.

The perspective I have on consciousness of lack as a motive for crime is it's a zero sum cop out where the perpetrator essentially blames victims for possessing items and attributes he doesn't have and justifies robbing and/or assaulting them.

Steady negative self talk plus remorselessness are a potentially deadly combination of triggers for those on the receiving end of anti social behavior.

Even if one doesn't buy into the metaphysics or energy explanation for lack consciousness, the end result is concrete enough to satisfy any skeptic.

I worry that progressive friends fervor to right historic wrongs unintentionally enables recent wrong doing by absolving urban criminals, among others, of responsibility for negatively impacting people and property.

Lack consciousness makes some commit crime because they tell themselves they deserve others property and personhood more than their owners???

Lack of respect and remorse are this mindset's greatest deficits.
